John C. Shaw, State Librarian 1873-1877

This photograph is from the book Broom's Legal Maxims from 1845. It was originally held by the Minnesota Territorial Library. In 1876, Librarian John C. Shaw sold it, possibly because it was a duplicate. The library purchased this book back in 2017. The State Library burned only a few years after this sale.
