Minnesota Court of Appeals 40th Anniversary

Relationships

The Court of Appeals occupies a unique space in the court system. They review cases for the district court and are themselves reviewed by the Supreme Court. They need to write opinions that settle issues and provide clarity for the district court but sometimes bring problematic areas of law to light so that the Supreme Court can step in and take the case as well. The Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court pride themselves on the collegiality of their courts.
