19th Amendment Ratified

The women's movement struggled for decades to obtain the right to vote for women in America. The 19th Amendment was passed by Congress in 1919. It then went to the states to ratify it. Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the amendment in August 1920 and pass it into law. The last state to ratify the 19th Amendment was Mississippi in 1984.
